Before I built my current motor, I was on a stock short block-stock oil pump and Gt-40 heads with bad valve seals. Once warm I was lucky to see 25psi. I am no expert, but if you are still seeing 35psi at around 3k that is within the safe limit. I was burning a quart every 50 miles when my valve seals were toast and I pulled the motor.
Right now I run a Melling High Volume on a freshly built short block and new Twisted Wedge Heads etc...so that is why my pressure is so high
