I was wondering what axle gears some of you guys are running. I found this calc http://www.paladinmicro.com/PalMFrame00.htm?wks=spd and it looks to me that the diffrence between 4.10 and 3.73 in 5th gear is fairly small. So i'm curious what some others run and how it affected your street driving
With the 5-speed, I would totally endorse the 3.73, due to the street driving as the primary need.
I run 4:10's in the 07 Shelby it it only works out well thank to the 6-speed.
3.73's for you.......get's my vote all day long!

I would tend to agree with Bob on this one...I had 3.73's in my old 02 GT and it was a great all around gear. It also depends on your plans for the car.
while some people enjoy 4.10's...I never liked the high rpm's on the highway, and if you ever plan to add on a blower or turbo at some point you'll need to go back down to a 3.55 or a 3.73 anyways......so why mod something twice.

3:55 with a blower is a sweet combo.. I think in 5th at 80 MPH I am @ 2400rpm

I had 3.90s in my 02 GT 5-speed and liked 'em! I THINK i turned about 2500 at 75mph in 5th. It was a nice compromise.
But then again, the difference in rpm between 3.73 and 3.90 (and 3.90 to 4.10) is only about 200 rpm. Not enough to worry about.
As others say though -- if you're thinking about getting a supercharger in the future, 3.55 or 3.73 would be more than enough.

Never run out of real estate, traction and ideas at the same time.
Jay most of us run the 373's in auto apps especialy if a roots style blower is in your future. There are some of us that run the 4.10's with sticks to help get of the line especialy if your going to run a tall tire out back for drag say a 28" tire. I know that jim runs a 4.10 in his car and he has the stick in his.
Completely depends on what you want to do with the car.
I'm gonna stick with the 3:73's that I suggested on Sunday also! I don't think you will like the 4:10's
based on our conversation Sunday.....
