    Need advice for wrapping headers?

SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
I just scored on some used headers and i was going to sand blast and paint them but i know that does not last so i want to wrap them now. Does any one have any experiance wrapping headers to help lead me in the right direction, brand of header wrap, what size, propper procedure, etc....

Hey, I would get some 2 inch wide wrap, any brand works well. Starting at the flange u wrap 2 times then overlap 50% the rest of the way down, also it helps to clamp the in the beginning with a standard hose clamp so u can pull it real tight without it falling off. After you have finished all 4 tubes u can now do the collector the same way. Also many people use safety wire or steel zip ties to secure it but hose clamps work real well and if u use black wrap u can paint the clamps black as well and never see em... Hope this helps ya
