Here is what I did, I put a breather on the passenger side valve cover and I used check valves in all of
the intake manifold vacuum lines. This insures that under vacuum everything operates normally, then
when under boost the check valves keep boost from entering the pcv system which is what causes the
oil to blow out of the breathers. This has worked very well for me.
That's sounds like a cool solution.......
How long have you ran it with that setup?

I wonder if this would perform the same on a Push Rod motor versus a Mod motor?

    Hi Bob,

#1 I've been running this set-up for the last 10K miles with no adverse effects.

#2 I can't see why not, basic premise is keep boost where it belongs, in the intake!

Reason being is that, as u all know, the intake supplies vacuum to the pcv/valve opens and closes allowing unmetered air to pass from breathers thru lifter galley and enter thru pcv. But seeing u have it vented i would get rid of pcv or run a 3/8 hose from it to ur catch can as well. The only need to have a pcv with vacuum is to make up the lack of venting abilities of the motor soo if ur well vented the pcv is virtually useless and ask any tuner it will cause unmetered air issues. Just cause the light isnt on does not mean its not a problem. Btw when under boost ur putting psi thru ur pcv(not air tight) ur just adding pressure to the crankcase.
I tried this exact setup 3 years ago and I was still blowing a ridiculous amount of oil out the breathers everytime I drove it. I would have to change the rags every time I drove it. The only thing that solved my blow by problems was hooking the PCV up to vacuum again and running the breathers. Now I only have to change the rags in the breathers once a season.

I am leaving my setup as is for this motor it has been 3 years and car runs the balls..when I become a member of the 2 Piece Block Club and build my Boss Block Stroker...I may devise a setup like Dana has planned for Bob's Fox.[/B]

Tom are you still running your PCV to vacuum on the intake?

    Hi Mark,

Yes I have a check valve on the 5/8" vacuum line between the pcv valve and intake manifold. Works like normal under vacuum but as soon as 1lb of boost is
being generated the valve closes. This keeps pressure from blowing oil out the passenger side breather.

    Valve Cover BAFFLES

I can only speak to Pushrod 5.0 based engines from experience. Regardless of what type of crankcase evacuation system you decide on, some type of valve cover baffle design is required in a 5.0 based engine with a Centrifugal blower in my Non-Expert Opinion.

Before I placed baffles in my valve covers...I was pushing oil out the breathers in a ridiculous fashion...even when not in the boost, just cruising these motors have a tremendous amount of crankcase pressure and they will push oil out..of course once in the boost it is amplified.

I could not fit baffles in my Trick Flow covers because the rockers would hit, so I had Moroso baffled breather tubes welded on....the baffle is inside the tube and stops at least 95% of the oil from escaping. I have rags shoved in the breathers to catch anything else, but a Catch Can breather setup would be more professional and cleaner.
