I was going to replace my battery this year. I was thinking interstate battery. Thoughts? Is this a good brand or is there something better out there?
I also have a question on size. Not physical size but amount of volts. Can you put a larger volt battery in your car ? Will it harm it? Only reason why I ask is that last year sometimes the car wouldn't turn over quickly. Like when I was doing errands. Starting and stopping it numerous times. Im not sure if the KB bap has anytning to do with it or if it was becasue my battery didn't have enought power to turn it over. Or it may be a starter problem. Again, It primairly happened when I was doing these stop and go errands. Ideas?

Do not put a higher voltage battery in the car. All you will get with that is that things will burn out, especially light bulbs. Also, without serious modification, your electrical system will only charge it like a 12 volt battery anyways. (FWIW, most 12 volt batteries are actually 14-15 volts.) What you want is a battery with a higher amp-hour (AH) rating, which means more current (not volts).
From my experience, expect 5 years from a Ford OEM battery, 3 years from an Interstate or such generic battery and 5-8 years of great service from a Sears DieHard. I never buy anything else if I can avoid it. Nothing else has ever stood up for me like a DieHard, and I'm not a big fan of Sears anything in general. Sears batteries had to prove their worth to get my business and they did.

Perhaps you (kevin) are thinking of increasing the Cold Cranking Amps (CCW)? That gives you more power for starting in cold weather. But Your Cobra is a warm weather only beast, right? You could actually go for a smaller battery, probably.

How long does your car sit between starts? If it's taking longer to crank, it's a sign the battery is getting weak. If your car sits a week or longer between starts, you might want to consider putting a battery tender on it to keep the battery in good condition.
