    1996 Mystic Cobra winter projects

    Explore Kenny Brown Performance today!!
Sooooo after my dismal showing at the end of season Dyno Day at Pete's Performance up in Loudon, NH I've been busy buying and installing stuff. The dismal showing of 261/263 was because of stretched IMRC cables which would not allow them to fully open. The computer also need to be tuned (by Pete at Performance) because of the JLT intake.
I'm looking for 300rwhp after final tuning.

MMR IMRC deletes - eBay, $192 shipped.

American Racing Headers stainless 1 5/8 longtubes and x-pipe - Corral classifieds, $550 shipped.

Lightning 90mm MAF, Corral classifieds, $70 shipped.

Mezeire electric waterpump with relay kit, Corral classifieds, $225 shipped.

Maximum Motorsports k-member with clearance for a Hellion turbo, Deal of the day, $554.56 shipped.

MM front control arms, Deal of the Day, $302.40 shipped.

MM coilover conversion with 325lb springs, Deal of the Day, $370 shipped.

MM aluminum rack bushings, $49 shipped.

MM bump steer kit, bolt through style, Deal of the Day, $128 shipped.

MM standard duty oil filter relocation kit, $269 shipped.

Bilstein struts, Bilstein MM race shocks

MM panhard bar with polished bar upgrade, Deal of the Day, $316 shipped

The IMRC deletes and electric waterpump are already installed and working great.

The front suspension is already out of the car and when we hit 50 degrees this weekend I'll be bolting up the longtubes and k-member. Still waiting for most of the MM stuff to arrive tomorrow and next week.

With any luck this car will be completed and tuned before Thanksgiving so that I can drive it out to Ohio for dinner with my family.

Thanks Bob! The guys over at the shop down the street know me by name after having them do the alignments for my '95 Cobra and '93 LX when I installed the k-member and coilovers on those cars last month.

A little after 5pm the night before Thanksgiving. Nikki gets out of work around 5 so I can't leave any earlier than that.

Got quite a bit done today in the nice weather. The longtubes and x-pipe are in and oil pan gasket has been replaced. MM k-member is installed as are the front control arms. Bilstein coilovers are partially assembled, waiting for the springs, aluminum steering rack bushings and oil filter relocation kit to arrive tomorrow.

Believe me, I would much rather do all of this stuff on your GT than on my 4v Cobra. Long tubes are cake on a 5.0. The suspension stuff is pretty much the same level of difficulty on any of these cars between 1979-2004. I haven't worked on any of the S197 cars yet.

Just kidding. I actually already have most of the MM stuff. But not the K-member, panhard or long tubes. Wanted to do the panhard and torque arm stuff, but I would have had to hack up my Borla exhaust so badly that I decided not to. I'll be doing the bumpsteer over the winter. Wish I had done it last winter while it was apart for the MM A-arms.

Can't wait to see yours next year!
