After over 35 years of building Ford race motors, my last being a 572bbf . If are going to street drive it stick with something like you have. If you intend to race it, a 408 or 427 windsor is the way to go.Remember in a Naturally Aspirated motor in most cases you need compression and big cam lift . This is the method most engine builders use thus costing more in fuel octane, valve train parts and so on. For driveability I would stick with supercharger or turbo , just my opinion

All tough decisions overall. Putting your finger on exactly what is best is challenging....and as you all know requires alot of initial thought. When I did my new motor in my 92, my thoughts swayed in many ways.

How the car is going to be used overall is the top factor. Then determining HP levels also.

A motor that is N/A (Naturally Aspirated) versus one that will utilize a Power Adder.......as this will determine the Compression requirements of the motor. HP levels will aid in the best direction with regard to determining your best choice of internal build components. It is ideal to know know/map out all of this prior to the start of any new engine build. Consideration should be made up front as to just how far you want to go.

One should also consider that during the early phases of the build, to put in the best components that they can, at that point.......as it's much easier to apply in the early stages, opposed to going back in at a later point to accomodate further changes.

None-the-less..........A Very Exciting Moment in time.....the creation of a new Motor!!

OK....I have made my decision...It was not easy, because a 427 with a 150 shot is tempting, BUT

Since I have the 5.0 inked on my back I need to stay with a 5.0 based engine.

So the plan is...keep my motor as is for this year and continue to see how much punishment it can take.

Next year, probably up the boost, bigger injectors and go for a re-tune and see how long it lives

Once it gives up the ghost:

    Boss Block 331 9:1 compression

Fox Lake Racing Stage 2 Port on my TW heads

    Anderson B-41HR cam

Modest 12 lbs of boost through the S Trim

60lb injectors if I havent already done so

(Also clean up the engine bay when the motor is out and talk to Dana about smoothing it out and painting glossy black)

    --------

This should give me another 100-120+ rear wheel horse and put me close to 600...which for the street is Decent!!!!!!
