Im not familiar with how Tapatalk works in terms of what needs to be done with a message forum, but I've been using this app on my iPhone a lot lately. I've noticed more forums I'm on have moved to Tapatalk.

It really does make browsing on a mobile device easier. And I do 95% of my browsing on an iPad/iPhone these days

Is that something easy to do? Or is there associated cost and difficulty with doing it?

I think it was about five bucks. I used it once, but not since, it doesn't seem to be any better than just browsing normally. You have to physically load each forum's web addy into tapatalk, it doesn't automatically recognize a forum when you log in, that was a pain for me as I get notifications on my blackberry and would prefer to just click the web link and have it go where I want.

It's $3 (for Android) and I find it much easier to use than web browsing. There is also a read-only version (pretty much useless unless you happen to need to reference something and only have a phone handy, and don't want to browse through the web). It re-formats everything into a smoother look for easier browsing. You don't have to type in each forum's web address, you can just type in, for instance, "stangs" and it'll show you every available site that has a match. Just use the "Search" button:

Once you have your site saved, you just log in and you're done. Regarding the notifications, Tapatalk doesn't work via the browser and reformat on the go, so that's why Jason was having trouble clicking the notifications links he received via email. However, you can set up Tapatalk notifications that'll bring you into Tapatalk when you click them. Problem solved.

It's $2.99 on the iPhone. One time fee and you can install on any I product registered under your account. So I use it on the iPhone and iPad.

It stores all your active forums and login info on one screen, load the app and pick what forum you want. It's very intuitive. I can snap a pic on my iPhone and upload oT to the forum in less than a minute to make a post explaining something,

Before, I would need to take pics, load to computer, upload to hosting service and link.

From what immreading. It's free for a forum to register with the basic package. Just requires registration.

^Correct. We set it up for another forum I help run in no time. Takes minimal effort.

Click here for the official SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally website! Not just an event...a destination. Laconia, NH - Sept. 7-9, 2012. Join us for this EPIC Mustang Celebration!
We are looking into this solution, as it does sound promising.

We have been looking to deliver a Mobile App for the site, and have actually considered several. The Forum software/platform that we are running on, is very conducive to the mobile users and/or application needs...with solutions in place. Most (3rd party) applications that we have looked at are buggy and/or didn't offer much gain over the traditional browser methods. SmokinStangs.com has a hard line about being selective with technologies, and will not subject ourselves and/or a members to a "Ginny pig" scenario....where-as, much pain can be involved with "Beta" apps...for a lack of better terms. Also, some solutions are just a "watered-down" version of the site (as mentioned above), which doesn't do the site justice overall, and takes away from the user experience. If we identify a product as being proven, bug-free (with-in reason), and more on a solid-state basis.....we would then be open & receptive to adopting such solution/s.

Here on SmokinStangs.com we are totally all for advancements, and new technologies, as we encourage & endorse such here on the SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum!!

We completely understand that it is important for us to allow forum/site access via a variety of modern day user interfaces.
Mobile devices & Mobile Apps have exploded onto the scene, and are certainly a big piece of the connectivity & constant contact puzzle now, providing convenient web & data access virtually anywhere.
