Holy cow, I do recall the ride home last year,,, That was some nasty rain!!!
even with regular street tires I take it slow in the rain so I should be good..
I almost went with the NT 05's, certainly seem like a great tire for the track without a doubt...
Does this mean you plan to run the beautiful black beast of yours this year on Ed day?

Now I have to start investigating a new clutch set up... would love to lighten up the Flywheel with an aluminum but just not sure its really worth the $$$ for they way I use the car... looks like it can get pretty pricey before its all said and done.!! The 2001 GT is a strange breed anyways.. there were mid year changes to transmissions and there are 6 bolt and 8 bolt configurations, so I have I have a little more homework to do.. Pretty sure I have the T-45 with the 6 bolt but I need to confirm, there is actually a lot of conflicting info on this matter out there...
I started a new post for this : http://www.smokinstangs.com/showthre...up-information

I understand but the 555R is a drag radial tire too just not a good one when compared to the NT05R. For an everyday driver, the dry weather performance from a 555R is not that great when compared to NT05 and in some cases people have said the NT05 where getting better sixty foot times when compared to the 555R. Either way, good luck with your new tires.

I had the Nitto' NT555's 285/35/18's, I had pretty good luck with them got about 30K out of them actually , I was going to just re-up on those but I was just looking for a little bigger footprint in hopes of a little more bite off the line whether it's on the street or for few times I hit the track. The biggest NT555 were the 295 but then again it went to the 45. so I said screw it and figured I would go with the 305's to see how they work out.. I thought about a 315's but with a 10" wheel I didn't want to push it. I figure if I get 12-15K out the 305's I will be happy.
