I prefer the OEM fox intake, but that's me.

OEM Intake, removed silencer and panel K&N filter is what I run. I had a BBK Intake...total POS

I have a BBK pipe on mine and I havent had a single issue. I also have a BBK intake manifold with 75mm BBK throttle body on it and I noticed a big increase. I am not using a BBK mass air flow meter tho. I dont know how the BBK pipe would decrease HP. Its pretty much the same as every other pipe out there. All it does is let more air get in to the intake with a bigger smoother pipe. Well good luck with your choice.

Maybe it's specific to the BBK CAI model for the 03-04 Cobras. It's a pretty well-known phenomenon over on SVTperformance.com
And both Rick L of NHMC and Pete at Performance Dyno have mentioned it.
I never dynoed my car before taking off the one that the previous owner installed, but I noticed better throttle response after replacing it with a K&N in a modified "stock" airbox. The BBK had a filter 1/2 or 2/3 the size of the K&N -- I have imagine that has something to do with it.

Anyway -- I'm just relating my experience - as they say in commercials: "Your Mileage My Vary"....

Yea you might be right. Im not using the air box or fender mount either. Just open filter with a K&N filter that fits on my 90mm mass air from summit. Heres a question for you. You know anyone using DSS racing stuff? I am thinking about using there stuff for a full 331 build.

There are many engine builders on par with DSS. Just search the web. Steve LaPointe has done a pretty good job for Dez and he's right here in MA. Why not keep your money local?

Also, why not look at a 347? More torque than a 331 and probably the same $ if not less to build.

I can get almost the exact same HP and TQ out of the 331. I just like the 331 for a longer lasting engine when I spend all that cash.

Ooo i never heard of anyone local doing anything like that. Does he also guarantee the approx hp and tq like dss?

Longer lasting? What do you mean?

I would think he can guarantee some numbers for you but I'm not positive. I can't really speak for him, I just know he knows how to make power, and has done NMCA championship-winning engines for Dez.
