recently started a new project and figured I would post my progress up here. This the Fx-r projector which I beleive is a remake of an infiniti projector. The kit I am using is the fx-r stage 3 kit from theretrofitsource.com. I had previously used shitty aftermarket hids in halogen housings and it was horrible, my smoked headlights make it worse so I started this to get some crazy light output...
heres a picture of the projector... I made L brackets for the bottom mount and threaded the brackets, the bolt has a lock nut, so when i spin the bolt I can adjust the cutoff beam rotation. This is know as the "jnc mounting method" I will adjust the vertical aim with a similar setup on the top of the projector to the back of the housing.
heres a pic with the shroud on the projector it covers the projector housing
I then cut apart the stock reflector and installed the halfs on the stock bolts. Most guys mount the projector into the reflector but I tried that and it was not as sturdy as mounting directly into the housing. So I mounted it directly and will be molding the shroud and the stock relector together for a nice clean look... then painting black...
heres with the shroud and the reflector in, just need to mold the 3 pieces together
all mocked up just need to put the smoked lens back on this one.
during the aiming process... nice clean sharp cutoff

very nice work....that's one of the better retrofits I have seen. The housings came out looking great
Any shots of the car in daylight with no lights on?
Either way, impressive work

nice work looks great you should market these
from all the people saying that I am actually thinking about it, i tried the aftermarket projector route but they look like crap imo, plus they aren't as sharp. If i were to market this kit I would choose a slightly different projector for ease of install and the ability to aim them after sealed up, mine are pretty much set after I aimed them, but when selling to others I would want them to be able to adjust, all cars are different heights etc which affect it. would be a little pricey as the parts are around 300 bucks before the lights being used and hardware for mounting. I had around 400 in just projectors and hardware but after learning some I could do it a little cheaper for parts. A guy on another forum used to sell them for 7-800 I could probably do it for 700 or a little below I would have to crunch the numbers
anybody shoot me a pm if interested in a set! the light output is insane! could do other years too
Wow....that looks really good, 10X better than most of the retrofits I have seen......really nice work
I saw your post on SVTperformance and all the positive feedback you got.
I have a set of HID's in stock housings, I have always toyed with the idea of doing a retrofit, but have never liked the way the looked until yours.

Yeah, if I was into projectors, I'd be pinging you for what it would take to get these for my 94. Best job I've ever seen. Do think about marketing this!

I am going to give it a shot, seems like it could be a nice little side job, make a little cash, have a nice product out there im proud of, and help the mustang community with our shitty lighting
I could easily do a set of centers for your current headlight setup, if they are aftermarket I could put them in the ones you already have, and im going to look into it but I think I could make a kit work with your current hid kit as I see your sig says bi-xenon but I am guessing you just have a plug and play kit. Shoot me a pm!
