    New Fox guy

SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
Hello, I've been signed up here on SmokinStangs since the launch but haven't been active.

I recognize a lot of the names on here and am sure some will recognize me as well. For those who haven't seen me in a while and didn't know, I moved out of the Northeast a couple years ago and am now living just outside Detroit (so car show parties now include a couple at Ford HQ each year )

For those who don't know me, here's some info on the car:

    1992 GT convertible
Vibrant Red w/white interior & top
    '99 Cobra rims
    Bullitt brake conversion
    Vortech S-trim (12-15#) w/PowerPipe
Performer heads / 1.7 roller rockers
4R70W w/full manual valve body, 10" forged 3000RPM lockup converter, etc.
    1 5/8 shorties, 2.5 catted H-pipe & catback

...plus all the accompanying goodies, lots of custom touches, and a bit of chrome.

It's been a long time since I've taken new pics, but whatever

Currently in the midst of some winter projects:

    - chrome SN95-spec brake booster
    - chrome one-piece smoothie style master cylinder (93 Cobra R spec)
    - chrome smoothie style water pump (the one I had on there has flaked over the years due to the rib design)
    - removed the dash to hide the engine harness (w/the larger booster in place, the harness wouldn't tuck above/behind it anyway so I had to bite the bullet and finally do it)
    - had a set of coolant tubes chromed to replace the stockers
    - I'll be powder coating the lower intake in a candy red
    - replacing the chrome PS reservoir with one in candy red to match the intake (bad finish on that part and I refuse to deal w/the plastic chrome material anymore)
    - and a bunch of little paint touchups, misc. powder coating and polishing, etc.

Also since the center console was out, I did this:

Smoothed, shaved, relocated mirror controls. Was going to put USB ports into it but instead I replaced my head unit with a media center unit and it has rear USB inputs, so I can hide an iPod and control it via the deck itself. I also plan on hiding a USB hub either in or under the glovebox so I can tether other devices off of it when necessary.

Things are going well, thank you. It's surprisingly similar in many ways, but very different in others. Thankfully, all the differences are for the better. There's car events EVERYWHERE all the time, it's crazy. There's so many cars. My new Mustang club has ~600 members and the past 2 shows have had 500+ and just shy of 800 cars at Ford HQ. Insanity! Best part is 45 minutes seems like a long haul now since so many are close by.

    WOW.............

Ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner. Being a ISAC judge (World of Wheels) I'm impressed. That car has alot of attention to detail and some degree of difficulty which makes it stand out....bravo on a job well done.

Please post more pics if you have them.

Thanks Rob! I've always liked your Fox as well. Many years ago before I repainted the car when I put on the body kit, I contemplated going with a similar orange/copper as yours. I still love that color but felt at the time (and still do) that it didn't go too well with the white interior & top.

I forgot, but I also bought one of those fiberglass fuel tank dressup covers. I'll have that shot in gloss black soon, and will be powder coating the new straps to a polished aluminum color.

Speaking of powder coating, here's the candy red that the lower intake will be done in, and the PS reservoir will be painted to match:
