This week at DMC Racing we’ve been working on Bill Robaey and Danny Reis’s x275 machines. Bill brought us a car that needed to be stripped and completely redone with a fresh 25.5, while Danny brought a partially-finished chassis that we needed to update to 25.5 specs for action at New England Dragway.
Dan has been working hard all week long to finish preparing Bill’s car for the 25.5 and minitub installation. He had to make a fresh set of tubs to fill the hole that we were working with on this project, as the car arrived here with a set of tubs in it that were not installed properly.
Dan cutting out the last bit of extra material from the new tub.
One of the new tubs firmly in its home. You can see the area to the inside where the old tub installation was performed improperly.
And here’s the one of patch panels Dennis made on the shrinker/stretcher.
Level is good!
Here you can see the notch Dan put into the framerail for tire clearance.

The front weld on one of the round-tube subframe connectors.
Both tubs and patch-panels waiting to be welded in.
Both subframe connectors from underneath the car.
Danny Reis’s car last week before we started working on it.
Dennis made quick work of the update on this car – or at least it seemed to be quick. Before I realized it he had most of the bars tacked in and some of them finish-welded!
Passenger-side x-bars installed.
A close-up of one of the welds on the x-bar.
Den also had to finish up the outriggers for the subframe connectors.
Front-side outriggers are made from round tube.
Driver’s side funny-car cage portion all finished up, with window net mounts installed.
Oh, and this showed up this morning for some between-races maintenance. ;)
That’s all for this week from DMC Racing – check back next week for new stuff!

Amazing work and a lot of money. Now my street car wouldn't be in line for any of those mods but I do need a custom strut tower brace for my GT. Is that something DMC would do or am I looking at the wrong shop for that kind of work.
Thanks
