Post / Editing issues?

Anyone have issues previewing a post? or editing a post after posted?

I loose everything I wrote and gives me a blank text box, then tells me I need 5 characters when I have gone and retyped everything again.

Odddddd?

Ok i had to deleted my other 2 posts, but they are gone and I was able to just post in the kanc thread but it did ask me if I wanted to leave or stay on the page when I was submitting.
I think there is something odd going on here.

It's not you.....and we know exactly what you ran into via posting & editing posts.

We are actively looking at this.
As a FYI....we just recently performed another site wide update (2nd one within a 3-week period), and had hoped that this condition would be corrected. It's a software issue none-the-less.


Seems to be a case of: "Two steps forward, three steps back"

You're not alone. I lost 20 minutes of typing and cut'n'paste last weekend. After it happened twice I just gave up and didn't bother to post. Haven't tried to use Advanced Mode since.

We presume via editing (since that is the topic here), but need to confirm by asking.

New post entries, should be "AUTO-SAVED" for all while they are being composed. NOTE: If your session get's logged out during the process....pending/compose UN-SAVED data will be lost. You can easily avoid this by composing a post, save it.....and then edit the post there-after. This works well if your long winded, and/or posting something substantial in size and/or depth.

If your session get's logged out during the process, as designed, you should be able to log back in and complete the post submission.

First time I started by creating a new post in regular mode. After entering some text and image tags, I switched to advanced mode and lost everything. Preview showed what I had entered in standard mode, but there was nada in the edit area.

Second time I started in advanced mode, entered a bunch of text and image tags, then hit preview. Same result as before: preview was fine, but there was nada in the edit area.

Tried using back button in browser, but no joy. I was using Firefox as the browser.

That's the worst, and obviously this is the last thing we want to see. Bear with us, and we will get this tweaked up hopefully quickly. It seems to be extremely random and/hit or miss, without a pattern.

-Return to the main forum
-Original post should still be intact

We think this problem is resolved.

For the best possible user experience here on the SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum we ask that users ensure that their javascript is up to date. After a few visits the new javascript should update to users computers and resolve any such related issues.

Sorry, but no. This just happened to me again. I entered a couple of sentences and then added 4 image links to Photobucket. Then I hit Preview. The preview message looked correct, but the box below where the message was supposed to be displayed was empty. Since it was a new post and I head nothing to lose, I clicked Submit and it told me my message was too short (because it was empty). So problem NOT solved yet.
