Project SMOKIN has successfully been outfitted with a full Single Turbo System:http://www.smokinstangs.com/showthread.php/2767-It-s-Turbo-Time!!-Project-SMOKIN-gets-boosted?highlight=project+smokin
All is working properly and yielding the expected results.
- Tuning Completed
- Dyno Testing Completed
- Shakedown Completed
- Track Testing Completed (kind of sorta - for conversation sake only)
The Question and/or topic:
On the "Hot Side" there appears to be strain....due to the weight of the overall plumbing/system which ultimately includes the Turbo (and it's weight). It has been observered that this weight is pulling on that sides exhaust headers....thus loosing them on-goingly.
Is this common?
Is their something to prevent this....that doesn't require custom fabbing something up?

hows it going Bob..u should really have a bracket made that secures to the turbo to help hold the weight of the turbo..it wont be long before welds start to crack..
I also would have a bracket made. I would for any turbo.
