    Spark Knock With Tune

SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
Was wondering if anyone has had any issues with a spark knock only while runnin tune? I have a 4.6 and am using a sct tuner. I only get the knock while running tune as soon as I go stock all is fine. I changed the plugs to a copper core & changed the pcv valve. Gonna pick up a fuel filter and try that tommorow. Anyone else have any ideas or similar experiences?

    Depends on the tune

If your tune is for a higher octane... It may knock.
If your tune is mail order and doesn't match your exact car... It may knock.

I know you payed good money for that tune so I dont want to be a party poop. I would have your car tuned by one one of the local shops. Pete & Dana come to mind. Every car is different & they can tune your car the best. Stay away from the spark knock!!! That can lead to a big BOOM....POOF!!!!

yeah man...that definitly shouldn't be happening

sounds like you just have to find a better combo of plugs and tune. Go to someone local who can really diagnose the car, put the car on a dyno and really get into to the tune. Luckily for you there are a couple of really good local guys

DId BAMA leave the user options to adjust timing open? If so you can turn it down a couple of degrees and see if it still knocks.

    + 1000000000

every car is different, therefore a mail order tune just won't cut it and will lead to issues.
