Driving home the other day and saw a engine car fire on side of road. I have noticed that some folks have fire ext in their trunks and was thinking of getting one for my car.
I did a quick search on line and saw some ranging from $25 up to $250+.
Can someone share their expertise when they did their research on this. I want the best bang for my buck.

Hi Kevin, I bought a HR3 performance Maxout dry chemical fire extinguisher for my car. It smothers automotive environment fires. I paid I think $60 dollars for it from summit, or you can go with a local parts store can probably get this also. I hoped this helped Brian
You want an extinguisher that uses Halotron as its agent. This leaves no residue and is great for car fires. Just google Halotron and you will get a lot of good choices. I personally prefer the Amerex brand for use in cars because the units are well made and can take quite a bit of abuse, but any of the units using Halotron will do you well. If you choose to pay extra, Amerex makes very nice looking chrome units.

Thanks all. Good information.
On a side note:
Dennis, Why would I let my car burn. You wife really LOVES it. (her words) Since you are barely competent to drive I would suggest you ask her next time you respond to these threads.
Go look for your reading glasses which are on top of your head.

Halon or it's derivtives is recommended. I've heard that regular "A B C" extingishers can actually ruin your car -- doing as much damage as fire itself, eating away at hoses and soft metal.
Also some car shows require you to have an extingusher.
