    2.5" vs 3" exhaust dyno results

    SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
    Okay not my best back to back test but I was suppose to be somewhere else today so the results are what I got with no changes to the tune.

    94 Mustang GT
    ProCharger D1@20psi
    Snow Performance Boost Cooler Stage 3 with 50/50 Water/Methanol
    TFS 185 CNC
    Camshaft: Frezzy74
    Edelbrock RPMII
    80lbs injectors

    Old exhaust setup
    MAC 1 3/4" Shorty
    MAC 2.5" H-pipe
    MAc 2.5" tailpipe w/Magnaflow mufflers (2.5")

    New exhaust setup (til saturday)
    MAC 1 3/4" Shorty
    MAC 3" ProChamber
    MAC 3" catback w/MAC Flowpath mufflers (3")

    Pic of my engine bay

    Tuning stuff

    More tuning stuff (on the floor)

    Trunk

    Dyno sheet

    As you can see we let off at 5700rpms (Oops) but the peak numbers were as follows:
    760rwhp vs 786rwhp SAE (granted not at same rpm) but a gain of 26rwhp for peak to peak comparison.

    @4000 rpms: 430rwhp vs 436rwhp
    @5000 rpms: 649rwhp vs 660rwhp
    @5500 rpms: 719rwhp vs 750rwhp
    @5700 rpms: 741rwhp vs 786rwhp

    Mufflers are going to be swapped out for 3" Magnaflows this saturday and then its back on the dyno.

    Long Tube Headers: I have personal reasons why I'm not using long tube headers and I do know they will make more power but its for personal reasons why I chose not to use them.

    Thanks

    Dude, what a freakin graph!!!! Impressive......

    Curiuos, what personal reasons do you have against long tubes? I can totally understand if its the installation thing, they are a *****!

    The worst part of the installation is disconnecting/reconnecting the EGR tube on the passenger header. Other than that, it's as easy as unhooking the steering shaft, removing the two 23mm nuts from the motor mounts, jacking up the engine about 42ft. (yes I meant 42) and wiggling them into place. I do realize it's not that simple on everyones 94/95 car but it is straightforward.

    Michael........You really should get that "personal reason" checked out by a professional; it's just not good for your health being that close to 800rwhp knowing that you can get past it but not doing it.

    I installed the long tube headers. Not fun to do it, but I noticed a small hp gain. Sound I have to say is better.

    People keep saying that but checkout the following:
    Feb 2011: 786rwhp SAE
    July 2011: 785rwhp SAE
    Sept 2011: 787rwhp SAE

    We installed a larger intake and picked up some HP but ran into other issues but we made the following: 799rwhp SAE

    So when I use the SAE correction factor it doesn't matter what time of year it is because we still made the same. Now UnCORRECTED RWHP numbers where vastly different on those dates above where the colder temps the UnCORRECTED numbers were higher than the warmer months.

    My failed attempts: http://forums.corral.net/forums/supe...tout-sort.html

    Interesting data. At 799 you could for conversation round it up to 800 and we will all be ok with it!!

    Why do I have a feeling you have a log of many, many test/tune combination's on your 94 from over the years....

    As an accomplishment 799 is pretty SMOKIN...
