I am a big Fan of Meth, but that is all I have ever used.
I run the Anderson Motorsports Mr. Freeze-easy to install no electronics..just operates on boost. Plus they are under $200
The Snow Kits are more advanced with low level warning lights etc.
I run Winter Blend -20 Windshield Washer Fluid and throw in 2 bottles of HEET-gas antifreeze.

screw choosing, i got both, Snow perf stage 3 and a air to air intercooler, i really wanted the meth kit for the increase in octane rating although my build was to run over 20 lbs of boost from a F1C

If you decide to go with methanol, Michael Plummer is a member of this board and a heck of a guy. He's the Snow Performance rep and is very, very knowledgeable when it comes to recommending the proper system for your current set-up and future plans.
I actually already own a AIS meth kit that is just sitting in my garage still in the box, but i just feel for a car that is going to be street driven more than raced the intercooler would be more of a consistant lower charge temp and much less of a hastle to tune properly. I could be wrong considering i have no experiance with either, thats just my train of thought at the moment. FYI i am not trying to achieve more power i just want to lower the intake air temps to be safer on the motor.

Garrett, I run the Snow Performance meth kit in my Vortech blown 92. From my personal experience & setup, it is the saving grace...as I solely rely on it to manage my AIt -Air Intake Temps. I just recently drove the car to Pennsylvania and then back without any issues, so street wise your good. Not sure where your HP level is, but I'm at 540...if that helps in your considerations.
Tune wise I have two pre-programmed. One is for "Full Tilt" (which I normally keep it on), and the other is the "Limp Home" tune, just in case...which basically bumps timing back to normal

A water/methanol system adds a lot of consistency to the setup even as weather changes etc, because water/methanol injection is far less susceptible to heat soak than an intercooler. The two complement nicely in other words.
I do agree with the idea of simplicity(intercooler), but a degree of control is also very useful, along with a very fine atomization for optimal cooling. I run both in my 94GT.
Top 5 reasons for water/methanol injection
1.The ability to run more total timing or boost.
2.Cooler inlet air temperatures.
3.No need for expensive race gas.
4.Reduces carbon buildup from combustion chambers, pistons and rings.
5.Eliminate power robbing detonation and much more.
