Why nail biting....just check out the cliffs, drops, speeds, and jumps!!
This footage was from Sept. 2010 / Enthusiasts will be able to check out the action here in New England this June 22-26, 2011, as the race is being rejuvenated as part of Mt. Washington Auto Road's 150th Anniversary Celebration. That's right...Mt. Washington HillClimb is one of America's oldest auto races, 1st ran in 1904!!
The 7.6-mile-long Mt. Washington Road is lined with trees, drop-offs, and winds on the way to the 6,288-foot summit.
The road was mastered in a 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car completely built by Vermont Sportscar, with an officially timed run of 6 minutes 20.47 seconds.
Four-time Rally America National Champion Travis Pastrana reached the summit faster than anyone else in history, besting the previous record by more than twenty seconds, now holding the record.
