* Fans of muscle cars will have the opportunity of a lifetime to own a piece of Shelby history in June 2011 when the Carroll Shelby Foundation announces the winner of its 2011 “Win-A-Shelby” raffle.

One raffle participant will take home the prototype number three 2011 Shelby GT350, owned by the legend himself. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation, established by automotive icon Carroll Shelby to provide financial support for children battling life-threatening illnesses and to promote continuing education.
“The new GT350 is a serious car,” noted Carroll Shelby, racing icon and founder of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “This raffle will give someone the chance to take home one of the best cars that Shelby American has ever built, while helping the Foundation support our youth.”
Not only does the new GT350 feature advanced technology and a sophisticated design, the muscle car introduces a 5.0 liter engine supercharged with the newly introduced “R” tune. With 624 horsepower, this will be one of the most powerful limited production cars in the world and can hit 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Shelby American will also return the original style of the GT350 by offering a solid blue painted stripe that wraps from the rear bumper to the front of the hood without any lettering on the hood.

“By creating opportunities like the ‘Win-A-Shelby’ raffle, the Carroll Shelby Foundation is able to support children from their first heartbeat through young adulthood,” said Jenni Shreeves, executive director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “Through the years, we’ve donated to a number of organizations that are dedicated to raising funds for children in need of support and medical attention, and to major children’s hospitals as well. The funds from the ‘Win-A-Shelby’ raffle will not only allow us to continue supporting these endeavors, but will also allow us to expand our reach of aid.”


The “Win-A-Shelby” raffle was introduced in 2005 as a way for the Foundation to raise funds for its programs. The highly anticipated raffle has included such high-performance legacies as a Shelby Cobra, Shelby GT500 and the Terlingua Shelby Mustang.
“We established the ‘Win-A-Shelby’ raffle a few years ago as an exciting way for both fans and car aficionados to take part in Carroll’s commitment to help others,” added Shreeves.


“The 2011 raffle is going to be even more exciting since the GT350 will be transferred from Carroll’s name personally. This one-of-a-kind prototype will be featured on a number of media tours and will be showcased at some of the most prestigious car events in the U.S.”
For a ticket price of $25, or $100 for five tickets, participants can place their name in the drawing.



The winner will be announced in June 2011 at the 2nd Annual Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction at the OC Fair & Events Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Carroll Shelby Foundation.

Talk about a deal (It is a long shot, but If you were to win..........):
The cost of the 2011 Shelby GT350 package starts around $33,995 but that doesn’t include the cost of the 2011 Mustang GT required to complete the package – amounting to a car with a final price over $65,000 and you could win it with a $25 raffle ticket.

After years of participating in the Win-A-Shelby Raffle, one lucky enthusiast finally drew the golden ticket at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County Auction in Costa Mesa, California this past July_2011.

William Munn of Maritez, Calif., was crowned owner of the 2011 GT350 on Sunday.



A longtime Shelby enthusiast, Munn had donated to the foundation for years through each of the Win-A-Shelby raffles. Now that he owns a Shelby, he can finally stop renting out cars such as the Hertz GT-H.

Munn's limited-production GT350 has a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that produces a whopping 624 hp. It can hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
The unique design features solid blue painted stripes that wrap from the front of the hood to the bumper without any lettering.
