Terrible suggestion. Why if its a street car would you face plate a transmission????? When you face plate it you take away the ability to shift SMOOTHLY at low speed/rpm and make it much easier to shift high rpm say 6k+.

Just build the t5 to be stronger and fix what you broke. If you really want you can put the TKO600 in there and that will be plenty strong.

Have you ever driven one daily? I have and i love it. Shift it right and no clunking. Not a terrible suggestion.

Not daily but driven enough face plated t5's and t45's to know that I wouldnt do a pro shifted or face plated for a dd trans. The whole procedure of how you make a transmission pro/faceplaced defeats the purpose of shifting below 4k

I would stick with the 5 spd. Nothing like a 5 spd fox. Get a few reccomendations of tranny shops etc...By the looks of it a freshly built t5 should hold up to your set-up being daily driven..

Just saw that you're in Cornish, I go to that area every summer.

what area do you go to near cornish? i am going to pull my t-5 apart and see what is broke and then go from there, the problem is, is that it's only about a 2 year old rebuild.

Thats only about 10 minutes away from me. I am thinking when I had the NOS kit in my car when it was EFI might of had something to do with my trans problem.
