Thread: How Much Boost and for How Long

How Much Boost and for How Long

SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
Those of you that run boost

How many lbs are you running?

    and

How long have you been running it?

I am a firm believer in anything 10lbs or lower will last. I am on my 4th boosted season with my stock blocked S trim and she runs better than ever. I am considering swapping out the 3.33 pulley for a 2.95 so I will see closer to 14lbs, but I think that will finish the motor off..still tempting as that should put me over 500rwhp ...

Of course if I swap pulleys I would also change my MAF and go from 42s to 60lb injectors.

    Decisions....Decisions...

It's all relative to what you are boosting. Your 10#'s on a stock block may cause more wear and tear than the 17#'s I run on an 88mm with a fully built A4 motor. I've never had any damage to my motor from running pump gas and 17#'s...even have a couple of nine second time slips with that level of power. Now at 28# I MAY (and I caution MAY) have blown some shit up! lol

I've been at 8psi now for about 4 years on the stock block with no major problems yet. But I never rev over 6,600 rpms just to be safe.

Do you beat on it or race it? I'm wanting a d1sc for my 98 but i'm kind of worried.

15 psi here.......this is my second year with the set up and no issues except for the fact I can't seem to find a belt that doesn't squeal.

p.s. Raul....keep that 98 stock brother...too nice of a car to start bolting on blowers

15psi WOW that is alot of boost. Is that what most of the Terminators run with a pulley change.?

Here's a table showing various pulley configs and the amount of boost they produce. I believe Ian's setup is a little more aggressive than the "usual" 2.93" upper pulley-only swap.
