    Rim question????

SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
I currently have 17" after market replica rims supporting 315/35ZR17 Nitto 555's. I was toying around with the idea of lowering the car but instead am searching out the option of putting 18" rims in the back to "fill" in the fender area which would give the car a different look. This was an idea given to me by KandyRoush aka Nick. I guess my question is if I go with the 18" rims would I be able to keep the same width tire at 315 or should I drop to a 305?
And the second question is which tires would be the best to run on? Looking for suggestions on this one. Thanks.

Give the new NT-05 a look. I have never had 555s, but the new NT-05 is supposed to be a very significant improvement over the 555s by all accounts I've read and I like mine very much. Mine are 17s, but give them a run if you want - they handle great. I have them on my car if you want to look at them in the flesh and we live in the same town. I can't say much about size, though.

Kevin....as we chatted about.......I think your car would look AWESOME with the AFS 03/04 chrome replica wheels
you'd probably wanna do 18x9 and 18x10.5...you'll be fine with fitting 315's .....a good tire like Bruce suggested is the Nitto....also alot of buys run that BG-goodrich Gforce tire.

and oh yeah...H&R all the way for springs......

Are you talking about 17s in front and 18s in back? Just be aware that some people have issues with the traction control freaking out because of the different rotation speeds. I don't know how common it is, but the problem does seem to crop up occasionally. Of course if you (like me) turn off TC all the time any way, or have it turned off in a tune -- it's non-issue.
