07 Mustang Shelby GT stripe problem

Hi this is my first post. I have the 07 Shelby gt, black with silver stripes. The silver stripes have spots in them. Have been told this is a common problem with the stripes. I contacted Ford about them. Was told it is from environmental fall out and is not under warranty (car has 15k mileage). I have decided to have the stripes removed and painted on. My question is a recommendation of a body shop who can do this and does anyone know what this approximate cost to do this.

Yes, it is a common problem on the Shelby GTs-- that's a sucky problem for sure. I know there's a couple of people on here that have had theirs replaced, and under warantee too, I think. Perhaps one of them can speak up on how to go about it.

As far as a local shop if you can't get it done by Ford, where do you live?

That is a warranty item and should be taken care of by Ford, what stealership did you contact that said no?

I called ford customer service as told to by Shelby customer service, said no warranty after 12k miles

Send a PM to GringoJoe and see what he did. (or maybe he'll post here) I'm pretty sure he had the same problem and I think Ford fixed his stripes.....

Hey there Shep978....

My buddies 07 GT had the same exact issue... he had them painted and they came out AMAZING. Gets compliments all the time.... take a look at the car with them done...

Forgot to mention... this was done after having the stripes replaced a couple times at no cost, basically its tough to get em done perfect once it rolls out of CSM... were very picky :)
