Finally after 4 years! 500rwhp club!

SmokinStangs - Mustang Forum! The home of the SmokinStangs Laconia - Mustang Rally
After 4 years of being pullied and ported, I'm there...through an auto!! haha. Just got back from the dyno...AGAIN. went back bc I wanted to try a few things and hopefully clean up the top half of my graph. Still not sure if its spark blowout or the Eaton just falling on its face. I closed my plug gap down to .028 for today and its still the same so Im leaning towards the Eaton is just giving up over 6300rpms.

anyways....best pull last week was 499 / 466. Went to put on a new belt after and noticed my vertical idler bolt was broken. Fixed that and went to put the belt on (first new one in a few years) and realized...hey...this is REALLY easy to put on. so after a few belt sizes I was able to fit a 1" shorter belt on my car. Ive been running a 81.6" for years and just never thought about it. The 80.6" went on pretty good and I thought maybe the bigger belt was slipping up top.

First pull, only change being the filter setup. removed the JLT CAI and made it a RAI. no change. car laid down 486/456 and was rich?

2nd pull, leaned it out and it laid down 497/466, right back where it was last week.

3rd pull I put on the CORRECT belt and no change. 498/467. Guess it wasnt slipping.

4th pull...I slapped on a 6# lower (was a 4#). took about 15 minutes and thanks to Posi...I had the correct belt with me! Car laid down 502/474. So I picked up 3 peak hp and 8 peak ft lbs.

BUT...picked up some more throughout the pull. Still funky up top if anyone has any suggestions?

Here is best pull w/ the 4# vs best pull with the 6#

didnt look at the logs but previous logs at the track it falls way off after 6k. the counts go from like 15.8-16.0 to 14.8 on Livelink from 6300 to 6700.

Dana took my question about the tensioner, the only other thing is are you sure your getting a constant fuel supply and no ignition issues the whole way over 6, of those look ok on your logs, then its gotta big the big E taking a lil hit...

    4.6 N/A Monster in progress...
Id like to thank my sponsors for the support and

    jake,
if the t-56 was still in your car and if you had normal tires on the rear i bet the car would lay down like 540....................with that being said from 6,000 on there is a tremendous amount of strain on the blower ... so im guessing its either belt slippage or the blower is becoming inefficient at this power level , i would not know for sure unless i tested it . the belt is my " guess" until i could see everything .........

jake...looking good there buddy........glad you were able to squeak a little bit more power out of the car even at your advanced level.

Are you going to continue with the 6# lower on the car from now on? I have to imagine that's cuasing the eaton to spin that much faster....Granted I am no expert but in most cases it's the most obvious thing that's cuasing the problem..and I think you guys have it figured out.

Anyways, nice job buddy, look forward to seeing ya around.
