I have been talking about putting together a Cruise to Parkers Maple Barn in Mason NH for the past couple of years, so I confirmed with Mr. Smokin Stangs and here it is:

Sunday May 16, 2010 is the day

We will have 2 meeting spots:

1. Londonderry, NH-Burger King Parking Lot off Route 93 Exit 4 (26 Nashua Road) 9:00am depart time

2. Manchester NH, Parking Lot of Mall off South Willow Street on the Longhorn Steakhouse Side 9:30am depart time

The Route will take us down 293 just to 101 West....It is a straight shot down 101 W until Route 13 ...we take that through Brookine NH into Mason and up to Parkers.

It is a nice cruise route and the Food/Breakfast is Worth the Trip!!!!!

Here is some info:

http://www.parkersmaplebarn.com/

This will be a Nice Weather Event only...so if it rains we will reschedule

That's great! My wife, daughter and I have been talking about cruising over there ourselves some morning. Adding Mustangs only increases the Smokin Awesomeness.

Count me in.

Which Mall of NH lot? I'm thinking the one by Longhorn is probably easiest to get in and out of.

I'm looking forward to this. I've been wanting to go here for quite a while now, but never made it.

I hear that in the winter time, when the snow is flying......it's the perfect scheme, with warm fires roaring, and nice big glass windows looking into the snow covered woods. Places like this.....real Maple syrup is a must for me.

MEETING SPOT 1 CHANGED FROM SALEM NH TO

BURGER KING PARKING LOT IN LONDONDERRY OFF EXIT 4 ON ROUTE 93-(26 Nashua Road)

I figured the people coming up from the south might need a restroom break since we will still have over well over an hour to go.

This sounds fun. It's my son's birthday that day, I know he'll love seeing all the cars.
Weather.com has it as beautiful right now, but we live in NH, so.... Who knows....

NEED A VOLUNTEER

Anyone feel like pulling up the rear of the Stang Train? I need someone in the rear that can call me if we lose a few at a light etc. Once we get through Bedford on 101...pretty smooth sailing though.

Just want everyone to know that Parkers can be real busy on the weekends so we may have to wait an hour to get a table.

I plan on calling when we are on the way and I have a better idea how many of us there are. I hope they will put us on the list and we wont have to wait that long.

Weather is supposed to be great for Sunday.

Good time!!!! Weather was outstanding and got to click off some miles with some fellow SmokinStang members. It's safe to say that patience is the keyword to use for this event. Sorry, NascarBen that you had to bug out just as we got seated.....though it was great to meet you, and get a first look at your 70 Mustang!!

Patience did ultimately pay off as the food was........hands down awesome. As far as breakfast's goes, this was some dam good food. The Maple Syrup was primo!!
Thanks Mark (Only90s) - for piecing this together!!

I'm glad that you guys got to enjoy breakfast. I'll have to get back over to Parkers on my own, but the weather was great, the cruise was awesome, and getting to meet a few more fellow club members and forum friends in person was a great way to start a Sunday. The only other thing that made having to miss parkers breakfast was getting to go across the Kanc this afternoon. I can't wait to see you guys at the next cruise.

The weather was great. Can't get enough of the Mustang train pics. Love that look. Sorry I missed the day but was working.

Mark, Browns would be a great idea. Certainly need to do that before the big summer rush because there wouldn't be enough parking there for us and their regular crowd. Place is always packed.

Mark, Here's an idea. Last Fall there was a photoshoot cruise along the NH seacoast. I couldn't go because of family commitments, but it turns out one of the photoshoot spots was only about 1/2 mile from where I was going in Rye for the family affair. I drove right by the photoshoot in getting there are saw JMac, PULNGZ and many more at the shoot. They got some great pictures. They will probably also remember a tower sticking up above the trees (below) and Bob ("SmokinStangs") P. posted some pictures of the tower with large American flags flying above it.

This is Pulpit Rock Tower and it is a WWII naval battery observation and tracking tower with a very interesting history. It is being restored by a local group of volunteers. Our relatives in Rye have the lot next door to the tower and are on the restoration committee. They also have the "keys to the tower" so to speak, and I'm certain I can arrange an open house of the tower for us if we can give them a few weeks notice.

The tower is not only interesting in its own right, it has amazing views of the ocean, seacoast and Isles of Shoals from its observation deck. If we were to park in the right place and walk just a little back to the tower, we could also get some "extremely overhead" shots of the Stang train from the observation deck. (Zoom telephoto lenses would be a plus!) Being in Rye near Odiorne Point (interesting in itself), it's also convenient to Brown's.

yeah..mid summer is really tough time for cruisin up there unless you go at night.......That might be a nice idea for a cruise...sunset cruise or something then park along the sea wall.
